Someone asked me once why I choose to be a pet care professional. That really stumped me because there are so many reasons. Of course there is the standard “I love the company of animals”. But no one chooses this path only because they love animals.
Being a pet care professional is so much more. It isn’t a 9-5 job where you close the door and walk away at the end of the day. It’s a lifestyle. Dogs and cats are not on a 9-5 schedule. Medications, potty breaks, dinner time, bed time and morning visits all take place outside of those standard working hours. All weekends and holidays are spent with clients’ pets caring for them while owners are away from home.
Aside from looking after pets, there is also the clients’ homes to care for. Plant watering, mail pickup, pool care and general home security checks.
There are so many people out there offering to care for your pet while you are away for $10.00 a day or sometimes even less. Before you hire someone to care for your pets and your home, there are some very important things you should consider and ask yourself. Is this person or company bonded and insured? Do they have an emergency back up? Would they notice signs that your pet was sick?
I understand that money is always a huge consideration given today’s economy and that looking for the cheapest deal is our new way of life. However, is cheaper really what is best for your pets and your home?
For professional pet care providers, this is our life. We live, breath and eat pets. Yes, we can suffer from the occasional hair ball or two as well!
I have spent 16 years doing the best I can to provide reliable, honest and affordable professional pet care services in Kingston, Ontario and the surrounding Area. I take great pride in the fact that my pet care team and I go above and beyond each and every day to make sure our clients, both human and animal, are well cared for.
So why do I choose to be a pet care professional? Obviously, I LOVE the company of animals. But I also choose this lifestyle because I understand animals and the joy they bring to their humans. I do it because I genuinely have a vested and passionate interest in the general wellbeing of my fur pals and their owner’s property and I take being pet care provider very seriously. I know my own life would be empty without my own fur babies and there are special moments that happen every day with my extended fur family that remind me I have chosen the right path in my life. I wouldn’t change what I do for all the money in the world.
Thanks for stopping by!
